It's Tuesday, and OT speech group is in session. The kids all just sang, "Hi Mrs. Wentzel, I see you!" as they had to each other.

Next week, Tuesday, April 15, the Speech/OT therapists are planning to take the children to the post office. Let's hope we still have SPRING weather that day and not snow!

This morning we worked on addition using a combination of strategies - numbers, counting bees, and touch points. The concepts are: that numbers represent sets of objects, adding is joining two sets together, and touch points are a quick and easy way to count on the number itself, instead of always needing objects to count.

For spelling today, we did RAINBOW WRITING. Students choose 5 crayons to use. They trace over the spelling word with each color, saying each letter and the word as they write.

It is Spring Picture day here at Creekside - all students looked so nice!

Mrs. Thomas, Program Consultant, stopped by our room this morning. She was pleased to see the children all engaged in learning.

Tomorrow morning, Wednesday April 9, there will be a bus evacuation practice here in the parking lot. This is similar to a fire drill in that it allows for practice in case of an actual emergency.
