Our reading buddies came this afternoon. Each week before they arrive, we review a powerpoint with all of their names and pictures. This helps us get ready to see them. We also preview the activity that we'll be doing. Today we heard the story of the 3 Little Pigs - an old time favorite. We were able to blow straw and sticks, but we couldn't blow over the brick that we had in the classroom. Children joined in singing "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?" and saying "... not by the hair on my chinny chin chin..." and "......then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in!" Together we completed a retelling sheet.
The sun was BRIGHT reflecting off the snow this afternoon at lunch recess. Does anyone need sunglasses?
