Wednesdays are always busy! Actually, EVERY day is busy in the Ladybug room. I wrote in communication folders "Blog update today," and here is is, 7:30 at night and I am just getting to it.
Two students absent today. We missed their smiling faces and hope they are feeling better.
In the classroom this morning one student completed his morning jobs including recycling. The staff at Creekside appreciate this valuable job. He also sorts the attendance folders by grade level and room number and returns them from the office. One student took a walk to the office and gym. He put up the letter for the Essential in the office window. Then he came back and said all of "Going on a Bear Hunt," with his friend in the room. That friend was especially playful this morning. He was teasing me....it was fun! Another student played on the keyboard - he, too, was playful. He played with the volume while looking at me with a great big grin on his face when I told it to turn it down.
Calendar was an interactive time with all students participating. They all do so well attending to the print from their notes, "Last Night at Home." Parents, you are to be commended for taking the time each day to write these notes. Your children love them and find them very meaningful and worth reading. Thank you!
All students individually counted out money for the pool. They put their money in their swim bag to take with them. They each stand in line at the counter and the attendant asks them their name and has them "pay" $3.00. Fortunately for all of us, she returns the money to me for next weeks adventure. We took six 4th grade students along with us today. They were a good group of peer buddies. I saw a big group of boys floating together around the lazy river with noodles, I saw girls splashing, I saw one boy jump and splash under the bucket and another begin to hang out where the boys were. A lovely day to walk back to Creekside in the spring air.
Tomorrow will be Thursday. We will make "Sunshine Smoothies" using the blender in the afternoon. I must remember to stop and buy milk in the morning...............:-) It's always something!
