Welcome back to School! Your children did well today. Everyone came off the bus happily this morning. I was out at the buses wearing my Ladybug antennea and top, carrying my Ladybug wand. You might ask your child about that!
We walked in a line to the classroom and began our daily routine - hanging up backpacks, taking out folders and lunches, making a schedule. We all had different things to do next - sensory, grade level classroom, a job in the building. Language time was next - words, signs, and pictures for comprehension. We began centers targeting academics this morning - 2 centers, then a movement break called "Peppy Club", followed by 2 more centers. Then calendar time. Most of us were hungry at lunch time. Those that got a school lunch, got chicken rings. We had 4th grade peer buddies sit with us at lunch and play with us at recess. We were noticably tired when we came in from recess!
Speech /OT/SSW lead Book Club this afternoon. Next week and all the weeks following, Book Club will be changed to Thursday and we will cook on Tuesdays.
Essential time is 1:55 TO 2:55 each day. Today students went to Art and Library; tomorrow they will go to Gym and Music.
A quick recess , then "Today at School" and off to the buses! We did it! We worked together on the first day of school!
