The Big Pig Song

Could you hear us singing today? We were pretty loud with our Reading Buddies singing this tune:

We used sign language for "big" and "pig" as well as holding on to our pink cutout big pigs. We had paper shovels (dig), a paper wig, danced a jig, and ate a fig - - - well, a fig-like cookie. It was lots of fun, lots of participation, and the tune will be running in my head tonight!

We missed the rain today.....hurray! The whole 2nd grade was there to swim, too. Busy! Next week will be our last time to swim this school year.

Birds

In Friday Fun Club this afternoon we extended our learning about birds. We read bird books, make bird nests, made bird feeders, and a paper bag bird. All of these activities are to remind of of the facts we know about birds. We also listened to many bird songs on an iPad app called "Wildlab Bird." We are reading a variety of books about birds.

Our paper bag bird is a bit funny looking, but he reminds us that birds have two legs to hop on, wings to fly, and a beak to eat.Our bird nests .

Our bird feeders.
