Popping the popcorn for popcorn balls this afternoon.

Our popcorn balls were too sticky and had many kernels........not a problem for the kids, but for some of the rest of us!

Today at School

Everyone is calm and following a routine schedule today. This afternoon we will have our reading buddies for Pingu Snowboards. We will work in small groups to answer comprehension questions. This is a portion of our schoolwide initiative to increase reading comprehension using QUINCY the QUESTION.

Disney Bingo and More at Ore Creek

It was Fun Club Friday this afternoon and we visited our friends at Ore Creek. We were all excited and happy to go. We read the social story several times this morning before going - it's very helpful to preview and explain some things that way.

We have had a good morning. We will be going outside for a shortened recess after lunch. We started some new books in guided reading: The Baby Animals and Over the River. We practiced jumping over the river and at the end, just like the bear, we jumped IN the river!

Today our schedule was changed. The students all noticed it first thing this morning when they walked in. Special Activitiy Star! (A whole school assembly) No work1 or work2! (Because of the assembly) No swimming! (Too cold - no bus - or so I thought) Our buddies came and we brought snow IN the classroom to play with this afternoon and we popped popcorn. In the meantime, a bus was arranged for us - so in the coming weeks we won't have this dilemma with the cold weather. We will take a bus while it is so very cold.

The Gingerbread Train

Can't you just smell the sweet scent of gingerbread baking? It made the whole hallway smell good!



These two are squeezing frosting to decorate a wheel for the train.





This boy's mom made the train for us. She sent in extra dough so we had a chance to use the rolling pin and cookie cutters.

This guy tried a butterscotch disk. I think he liked it!
