Update
No pictures - just some words about the day. Wednesdays are so exciting with going to the pool. In the morning we followed our daily schedule. As a part of calendar time, we played a ball bouncing game, reinforcing the days of the week. We also individually counted out our three dollars for swimming and put it in our swim bag. When we arrive at the pool, the nice lady at the front desk asks us each our name and to count our money. Good work!
Our fourth grade buddies eat lunch with us in our classroom on Wednesday. We are all working on staying engaged with one another. It really does work out well to have the extra children in here and to see the interaction. We partner up to walk over to the pool. There are many road crossings on the way and we practice with, "Heads up! Look left - no cars coming. Look right - no cars coming. Safe to cross!"
Everyone stayed in the pool playing the whole time. The buddies stayed with our students. Lots of laughter, playing, and interaction. We now ride a bus back from the pool and everyone (especially the adults???) likes that.
Back to the classroom to reorganize and have a snack, then to essential.
At calendar time we are singing a new song about the clock. The tune is "Wheels on the bus."
"The hands on the clock go round and round......."
Next week is the end of the second quarter - half way through the school year! I am pleased with the routines that are established now in the classroom and the progress that the children are making. We have lots of work to do the second half of the year! Thank you ALL for your continued support.
